Friday 13 November 1896, The Sydney Morning Herald

INVERELL, Thursday.

The first shearing dispute in this district this season is reported from King’s Plains station, where the whole board struck because they were required to tar their own sheep. Trouble being feared the police of Inverell were communicated with, and their assistance was obtained. The men were then asked to continue shearing, but declined. They were then paid off and discharged. The owners will have little or no trouble in refilling the stands, and some of the discharged men are likely to return.

Reedy Creek cut out on Thursday. The clip is a good one.
