INVERELL, Friday.

Mr. James Beckett, a prominent mining resident of Ponds Creek, died on Wednesday from typhoid. He had been 31 years on the Tingha tin fields. A son of the deceased died only a few days ago from the same complaint, and a daughter is ill with the same disease. Mr. Beckett has left a widow and eight children. He was a member of the Inverell Masonic Lodge, and his remains were accorded a Masonic funeral.
